Three Waterfalls

Three Waterfalls

A famous Japanese shrine has a spot with three waterfalls. Each waterfall represents something different, each represents a blessing. The waterfalls are said to represent wisdom, health, and longevity. Visitors who come to the shrine are invited to choose which of the blessings they want for their lives by placing their hands under the appropriate waterfall. But the catch is this… each visitor can choose only one blessing. Which of the three would you choose? We know what King Solomon would choose, he would choose wisdom. In Proverbs 16:16, Solomon writes

“How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is to be chosen above silver.”

Spiritually, wisdom has been defined as “seeing things from God’s perspective,” or “to see things from His point of view.” We can gain wisdom by spending time in God’s Word and listening to the Holy Spirit. We can also pray and simply ask God for wisdom.
