Lost and Found

Lost and Found

I have preached that before we ever seek God…He seeks us. In our lostness…God seeks us and wants a personal relationship with us. John 3:16 says

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

God is love…He personifies it. God loves…He demonstrates it. God cares for and loves all of us…even those who are lost and separated from Him. If you have ever had a child slip away from you in a store, then you know about the panic…the concern…the care you have for that lost child at that moment. And when they are found…there is relief…great relief. In that moment, I believe we get an idea of how God must feel when a lost person is “found.” Someone once asked a famous theologian, “What has been your greatest discovery?” They expected some deep academic insight or some profound doctrinal explanation. But he simply answered, “Jesus loves me! This I know; for the Bible tells me so.” What a great truth! God loves us! Let’s be ready to point the lost and hurting to Jesus! There is no greater thing than to be “found” by God!
