Notes From Mark

As God’s creation we were created to give Him praise and adoration – we were created to worship. You have no doubt heard it many times that a humans, if we do not worship God we will worship someone or something, we can’t help it that is the way God made us. As I shared Sunday our worship is paramount to our growth as Christians. It is not only our time of worship when we gather but it is our times of privately worshiping God. Times when we are free to truly ignore any constraints of the world and be honest and open before God. These are times when confession and repentance occur. These are times when we can express our hurts and frustration to God knowing He cares and is waiting for us to come to Him. The time we spend alone with God is the most important and best time of the day. Enjoy the presence of God knowing that He wants His best for you, which is always better than our best! Give Him glory always and worship Him with sincerity. When we are doing this as a church, our church will grow both in maturity and numerically. The Bible teaches us that lost people are attracted to the genuine love of God displayed in His followers.

But what happens when we live God’s way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard – things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely.
