Recently, I have shared with the church that the Deacons and Ministers have been meeting, as a committee, to understand the culture around us and seek God’s leadership for vision and our mission. Last Sunday, at our quarterly business meeting, I shared with the church the committee’s recommendations. Discussion was held and suggestions made. These recommendations will need to prayed over and discussed. I plan to hold a “family meeting” for our church to further discuss these recommendations and ask the church for input. First, I would like to share with you a recommended vision statement. A vision statement describes the church as it would appear in a future successful state. The recommended vision statement is… To the glory of God, Emmanuel Baptist Church is a house of prayer. We worship God and we preach the Word of God. We show the love of Jesus Christ by encouraging and equipping believers to serve as witnesses in reaching people with the Gospel. Please pray and seek God about this vision for Emmanuel.
