Notes From Mark

So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Philippians 2:1-3

Theses words from this Paul to the Philippians are such a great example of Christian love in action. This chapter is one of my favorites for the picture that it paints in each one of us being a Christ-follower. When it talks of being the same mind and having the same love it is not you and I being in accord with each other though that is important it is saying that since it is obvious that Christ does encourage, comforts and loves us and that it is obvious the Holy Spirit is active in our lives then it must be the mind of Christ living and working in us. When this happens we will be of the same mind because it will be Christ guiding our thoughts and driving our actions. As Christians if we want to get along with each other then we need to know Christ more and let Him direct our entire life. Continue to be in prayer for those in Texas and those who are impacted by Hurricanes this year.
