“Genuine discipleship is less classroom and more living room; it is less teacher/student and more parent/child.” @micahfries

Then… When I was younger I remember my dad always dragging me around to do work projects. My dad was
always volunteering all over the place from church to a friend of a friend, to my cousin’s sister’s friend, it didn’t matter. Once I was old enough to be a help to him he would take me with him. I hated it. It even got so bad one time that my mom started paying me to go work with my dad.

2 Timothy 2:1–2 [1] You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, [2] and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also. (ESV)

Now…I miss it. Looking back these are the times I learned the most about my dad. I learned a great work ethic, I leaned about helping others, I learned about discipleship and I learned about his walk with Jesus. My father is a great man of God and I wish I could go out and work beside him more. But one day I will drag my sons around to work projects and teach them what my father taught me.
