Unity

An old adage says, “United we stand; divided we fall.” That is so true with churches. In 1 Corinthians 1:10, Paul writes

“I appeal to you, brothers…that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought.”

In unity, we can accomplish so much for God. The writer of Hebrews said,

“We should not cease assembling together…but encourage one another.”

We need each other. We need Christian companionship and encouragement…we need support…we need a church family to care for and to care for us. If we hang out with the worldly, the lost, then we have to be very careful or we will be influenced to worldly things. Another old adage says, “If you lie down with dogs, you’ll get up with fleas.” The fact is, we tend to become like those we’re with. Solomon said, in Proverbs 4:14,

“Do not…walk in the way of evil men.”

We need to walk with God and godly people. In 1 Thessalonians 5:22, Paul said,

“Abstain from every form of evil.”

That will keeps us out of trouble, AMEN? So, let’s choose our friends wisely…let’s walk with God…let’s get along with each other at church so we will have unity and accomplish all that God wants us to.
