Notes From Mark

The world is a demanding place. Often we feel pulled in umpteen different directions and each one seems important. This causes us to worry and to stress about not just what gets done but what is left undone as well. We feel like we are in the middle of a tug of war and that we are the rope. Perhaps, knowing that the rope is helpless to correct the situation and is ultimately controlled by forces outside its control, we feel helpless. We need a Savior. Here are words from Max Lucado in his book God’s Inspirational Promises:

Blessed are those who recognize their God-given responsibilities. Blessed are those who recognize there is only one God and have quit applying for His position. Blessed are those who know what on earth they are on earth to do and set themselves about the business of doing it. May we be those people!

For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do. And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
