Notes From Mark

The world is a demanding place. Often we feel pulled in umpteen different directions and each one seems important. This causes us to worry and to stress about not just what gets done but what is left undone as well. We feel like we are in the middle of a tug of war and that we are the rope. Perhaps, knowing that the rope is helpless to correct the situation and is ultimately controlled by forces outside its control, we…
I’m wired to move on to the next event rather quickly. Not sure if it’s my personality or it’s the way most of my summers go from one event to another very quickly. After this past Sunday evening I don’t want to do that though. I want to say thank you. Thank you to the all the people that for months organized and planned the Party at the Park event. I want to say thank you to all the workers…

Things continue to bustle at EBC! There are many reasons to be excited and to stay connected with your church. This past Sunday we had our Party @the Park. With three groups meeting outside our physical building we had many opportunities to meet people and make new friends while extending the love of Christ to our city. It was a wonderful evening filled with the 4F’s – fellowship, food, fun and friends. Thank you to the team leaders and the…

The workers are here and the old carpet is being ripped out. Preparation is being made for our new vinyl plank flooring in the basement – Children’s area. I look back on the past few months and I am so grateful for the generosity of our EBC family. You have given not only financially which has been huge but also with your time. To top all of this, it has been with an amazing loving and supportive attitude. This past…
We signed my boys up to play soccer for the first time this month. A few weeks ago they had their first game. I really wasn’t sure what to expect, they began very timid and slowly. After a few times down the field they began to understand the way everything was organized. After that the training wheels came off and they began having a blast running around, taking the ball and even scoring goals all on their own. After each…
As we have been getting ready for our Connection Sunday: Party @ The Park. We have been designing, ordering and preparing publicity. We have been getting signs, banners, business cards and door hangers all ready for us as a church family to show love to Weatherford. Not only that, on the biggest banners that we ordered we wanted to make sure that we could reuse them so we talked and discussed about what should we put on this banner. In…

Now may our God and Father himself, and our Lord Jesus, direct our way to you, and may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, as we do for you, so that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints. 1 Thessalonians 3:11-13 Throughout Paul’s letters in the New Testament we find beautiful benedictions. Words that…
With all the rain we’ve had the past few weeks and with being gone for one of those weeks, needless to say my lawn was a little bit of a jungle. On Saturday our family took the day to work on it by trimming, mowing and bagging the mowed grass. It took awhile, I found myself even having to mow certain places twice both to make sure we got the grass cut but also to make the lawn look clean…

Since my last article new developments have happened that are just really exciting for the physical care of our church. Money was given to finish up the flooring in the basement! Praise God! A gift was given to help re-carpet and upgrade our sanctuary sound system! Again – praise God! These are areas that needed some TLC and facelift and God has provided a way for that to happen. I am filled with gratefulness and praise for these tremendous acts…
