Scott Hume recently resigned as our Associate Pastor to follow God’s call to be the Director of the SWOSU Baptist Collegiate Ministries. This is bittersweet. We are saddened to lose such a great and long-time minister to our church family. However, we are excited about his new opportunity to serve God, and the fact that we get to keep him and his family as part of our church family. With Scott’s blessing, we will immediately move forward to search for God’s man to serve as our next Associate Pastor for Students and Missions. I announced the search committee election last week in the Church Newsletter and during last Sunday’s worship. With the advice of our Deacons and Personnel Committee, our Search Committee will consist of five members…one youth, one college student, and three adults. We will also elect one alternate adult. The college and youth representatives to the Search Committee will be elected at the first of the Sunday School hour on Sunday, June 5th. Only adult church members will vote June 5th after the morning service. The adult ballots will have a place for your name and blanks for three nominations. Your name on the ballot is to ensure your membership, ensure adult status (not college, youth or child), and ensure no duplicate votes. Only the Committee on Committees will see the ballots. If you are not going to be in church on June 5th, then you may email your ballot (three names) to [email protected] or drop off your vote at the church office. Votes will be accepted till noon on Sunday, June 5. As you vote, please consider electing deacons, those who work with our
youth, those who work with our college students, and those who have been on mission trips.
