Comfort and Joy. These two simple words express what many of us feel at Christmas. If they do not express what we feel they do exemplify what we want to feel. All of us want a place or a state of being where we feel loved no matter what, where we are comfortable and can give comfort. As we desire comfort, we also seek joy. We will do whatever we can to bring that feeling of joy into our lives. This Sunday our Worship Choir will share the musical Comfort and Joy. I pray you will come and hear the message that is shared and understand that God desires for each one of us to be comforted and filled with joy. This has been God’s message from the beginning. He was with Adam and Eve sharing life with them. He was with them when they left the garden providing comfort and hope with joy.
Throughout history we see the love of God in His dealings with man culminating in the birth of Jesus Christ. And on that night heaven celebrated with joy uncontrollable. The heavens opened up and praised God. Comfort was brought to Mary and Joseph, the shepherds and ultimately you and I through the love of God. God came to earth to restore. To restore hope. To restore peace. To restore joy. To restore our relationship with Him. When this is done we find comfort and joy in our lives. Welcome the birth of Christ in your heart this season knowing He came for you to bring you the peace, comfort and joy of heaven.
because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.” Luke 1:78-80
