Easter is a beautiful and holy time in the life of a Christian. It is a time we gather with joy unspeakable because of the wonderful gift of life that Christ has given us evidenced with His resurrection. It is a day in which every true believer should desire to be with his or her brothers and sisters in church worshiping together as one. It is what we do. This is holy week and in it we see the actions of Christ going to the temple, teaching the crowds, sharing an intimate time with His closest disciples and then the farce of a trial, the beatings, brutal death and burial. We see these often as events but as I look closer I saw that even though Jesus knew this was His last week on earth, He went about doing what He had been doing, worshiping, teaching, healing, fellowshipping. He was our model for all things. As a Christian that is my goal to follow Christ in everything, even when I know it will be my last. I want to be faithful. Sunday we look at the hands of Christ in love we see how He has touched each one of us and how our response is to be Christ to our world. I do hope you are making plans to be here, not letting anything get in the way of our family being together.
For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
