If you are a parent perhaps you can relate to this concept. When we look at our children we may see their blemishes, problems or faults but we also see their immense value. The same is true of God. He sees our warts and ugliness and He knows our sin but He also knows our value. This value is why He sent Christ on this earth to redeem us. It is why Christ came to restore that relationship which had been seemingly irreparably broken. To God we are not a source of conflict and stress but we are His treasure. He formed us before birth. He knew us before we were born and He knows us as we live. God cares for us!
Why is this important? Because if we believe this and live this out in our own lives then it determines how we interact and treat others. O let us be a people who reach out to our family and friends with the mind and love of Christ.
It is absolutely clear that God has called you to a free life. Just make sure that you don’t use this freedom as an excuse to do whatever you want to do and destroy your freedom. Rather, use your freedom to serve one another in love; that’s how freedom grows. For everything we know about God’s Word is summed up in a single sentence: Love others as you love yourself.
