I know, I know, Christmas is about giving gifts not receiving them but lets be honest, we love getting gifts. I love getting gifts, I love getting a gift that I know someone has taken time to think about me and find the gift that is just for me. Some great memories of Christmas are those years that I really, really wanted something and I waited what seemed like years to wait for Christmas to get it. Then Christmas day comes and you open that gift. Years ago I wanted a (Yes I’m not kidding) BB Gun. I got up really early before anyone else was up to see if it had been left on the fireplace and cried when it wasn’t. I remember opening gift after gift for 2 days hoping it was under the gift wrap. Finally, we went to one last family get together and there it was, my Daisy Red Rider BB Gun. It was a great memory. It was a special gift that I really wanted.
God sent us a gift even more meaningful many years ago as his son was sent to earth as a gift of Hope, Grace and Salvation that we celebrate during this season.
