The majority of the time I’m a Martha not a Mary (Luke 10), I know that. I work hard to focus during the times in my life that I need to focus on “Sitting at the Feet of Jesus”. There are many days that I have to remind myself to “Just Relax”. It drives Lisa a little crazy when I have multiple days off because I don’t “sit” well. I find myself with always a task or a list of things I want to get done. Usually it’s the things that I want to get done that gets pushed to the back of the list while I do the task that needs to get done. The thing is, that creates a large list of projects during the down time. When I get the time to accomplish those tasks I find myself always busy, always tired. I need rest, you need rest. I fight myself as I try to combat my idea that rest is laziness. It’s not! Even God himself rested (Ex 20). It didn’t ever say he was tired. Be careful this Christmas Season that you don’t forget to Rest.
Mark 6:30-31 The Apostles retuned to Jesus and told him all that they had done and taught. And he said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.” For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat. (ESV)
