This last Sunday, I announced my intentions of retiring from the pastorate at Emmanuel. August 5, 2018 will be my last Sunday in the pulpit at EBC. I harbor no ill will towards anyone, nor have I received any pressure to leave. I have prayed about it and found complete peace with my decision. I plan to return to teaching at SWOSU and to continue being part of the Emmanuel Baptist Church family. I am not leaving the church, nor leaving Weatherford. My role will change but my commitment will not change. So, I ask you to pray for me as I make this change. Soon, we will begin the process of calling our next Pastor. We will pray…we will elect a search committee…we will pray…we will search for God’s man…we will pray…and then we will call the man that God is calling to be our next pastor. I plan to love and support our next pastor. Thanks for all the love and support you have shown me. So, what is next? In a couple of weeks, you will be given the chance to commit to prayer…to bathe our church and the search in prayer. I hope you join me in this commitment.
