With all the rain we’ve had the past few weeks and with being gone for one of those weeks, needless to say my lawn was a little bit of a jungle. On Saturday our family took the day to work on it by trimming, mowing and bagging the mowed grass. It took awhile, I found myself even having to mow certain places twice both to make sure we got the grass cut but also to make the lawn look clean and not just like a Middle School boy with a bad haircut. After we finished I found myself siting on the front porch resting and enjoying a finished job.
Our walk with Christ is much the same way, when trials come they take time. They, many times, take multiple chances to get it right. But after we endure and succeed with the help of The Holy Spirit we need to make sure and rest and celebrate a finished job. As we grow, more trials will come. Just like my grass will grow again, but for this time we need to make sure and celebrate the victories.
James 1:2–4 [2] Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, [3] for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. [4] And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. (ESV)
