Are you filled to overflowing? Well maybe, it just depends with what are you filled? Repeatedly in scripture God encourages us to fill our minds and hearts with the things from above. The Psalmist tells us “to taste and see that the Lord is good.” And again the psalmist says “Thy Word have I hid in my heart that I may not sin against Thee.” Paul wrote in Philippians to dwell on the things that are pure, true and right. In Romans He said “Be not conformed to this world be be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” So are you filled to overflowing with the good things of God? Are you reading God’s Word daily? Do you take time to apply His Word to your life and see how you measure up to His Word? Are you praying with purpose and intentionality for the things of God and not the things you want? Living the Christian life day in and day out takes work and effort, yet it is what God has told us to do, out of obedience to Him. Take time to verbally praise God. Make time to share your thankfulness and gratitude with God. Always remember to fellowship with your brothers and sisters in Christ, rejoicing with one another and bearing one anothers burdens, hurts and grief.
The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
