EBC Missionaries: Disaster Relief

EBC Missionaries: Disaster Relief

With the severe weather that we experience last week and the damage in Elk City I was compelled to add 1 more Missionary topic to this series that wasn’t originally planned. As we discussed our churches desire and obedience to fulfill Acts 1:8 part of that mandate is to be the Hands and Feet of Christ (Matthew 10:42) in times of need.

Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief is the 2nd largest volunteer relief organization is the world. Currently the Oklahoma Disaster Relief teams have been working for 131 Days as of today (May 24th). From the Ice Storms in the NW followed but the wildfires to the floods in the Tahlequah area, and now the current Storm Damage in Elk City, NE and the Lawton area of the state as well. Disaster Relief is a year long always on call mission.

If you would like to get involved with Disaster Relief we will be attended a training this fall at FBC Woodward on September 16 but there is also a training this summer on June 17 in Lawton at First Baptist Church-East.

Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has comes upon you; and you will be my witnesses, telling pope about me everywhere – in Jerusalem throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
