We all need hope. Hope changes everything. Hope is an essential of life. I remember reading once about some researchers who performed an experiment to see the effect hope has on those undergoing hardship. Two sets of laboratory rats were placed in separate tubs of water. The researchers left one set in the water and found that within an hour they had all drowned. The other rats were periodically lifted out of the water and then returned. When that happened, the second set of rats swam for over 24 hours. It was not only because they were given a little rest, but because they had hope! Those lab rats somehow hoped that if they could stay afloat just a little longer, someone would help them. If hope holds that kind of power for rodents, how much greater should its effect be on our lives? Jesus Christ give us hope! Romans 5:1-2,5 says
“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God…now, hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”
When we feel there is no hope…remember Jesus and the hope He give us…
