Lifelong Learners

Lifelong Learners

A week doesn’t go by, that I don’t learn something from God or about God. He continually teaches me. In Psalm 25:4, King David prayed,

“Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths.”

We never reach the point where we can’t learn anymore. The more that I study God’s Word, the less it seems that I know. We must be lifetime learners. We must recognize our strengths and weaknesses. God’s teachings strengthen us and make us successful. They direct us towards His best for our lives. His instructions are always practical and give our lives meaning. Have you ever noticed how so many people are never happy. How sad is it? That they live such unhappy lives? The Bible tells us the key is contentment. Paul says in Philippians 4:11,

“For I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.”

An ancient Persian proverb says,

He who knows not, and knows not that he knows not, is a fool, Avoid him; He who knows not, and knows that he knows not, is a child, Teach him; He who knows and knows not that he knows, is asleep, Wake him; He who knows, and knows that he knows, is wise, Follow him.

Seeing things from God’s perspective is wisdom. Seeking God is wise. Isaiah 28:26 says

“His God instructs him and teaches him the right way.”

Let’s be willing to learn…let’s be willing to change… let’s be willing to grow.
