As we witnessed the baptisms of those who made professions of faith at Falls Creek we saw the picture of Christ’s ministry. Christ gave up EVERYTHING to come to earth and live among us, knowing that we would betray Him and eventually kill Him. We talk of Jesus being nailed to the cross and the Roman Government putting Him to death. We even mention the Jewish leaders part in His crucifixion. Really it was Christ’s conviction that held Him to the cross. His conviction that He must become sin so that the fury and wrath of God would be upon Christ – the One who created, rather than on us His creation.
Christ’s willingness to do this so that we might live with Him forever shows that God would rather give up His Son rather than give up on you and me. As we are taught in our bible study it is not too late to come to Christ, there is not a thing we have done that can not be forgiven. For being a christian is not a matter of being perfect, rather it is being forgiven.
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God,
being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, 1 Peter 3:18
FYI – We are also seeking to replace the flooring downstairs, if you would like to give to this project please note that on your donation.
