Since my last article new developments have happened that are just really exciting for the physical care of our church. Money was given to finish up the flooring in the basement! Praise God! A gift was given to help re-carpet and upgrade our sanctuary sound system! Again – praise God! These are areas that needed some TLC and facelift and God has provided a way for that to happen. I am filled with gratefulness and praise for these tremendous acts of generosity. It is just so exciting!
As hard as we work on the church building and that is important, we must not neglect the church body. Sometimes it is easier to keep the outside looking good and then not take care of the inside so that while all appears to be well on first glance but really we are struggling so hard on the inside, in our very soul. I know I went from the physical to the spiritual real fast, yet that is where we must always have our attention focused.
In our Leadership Ministry Team meeting yesterday I was so excited with the response of our church. Then not only the response but also the excitement that was generated as we discussed and thought through programming, events, evangelism. One big takeaway is that we as individuals must do a better job of reaching out to people in every way we can. To that end there will be events in our church life to help each one of us accomplish this. Please take part in these and every opportunity you can to minister alongside EBC. Thank you EBC for allowing me to work with you!
Blessed be the LORD! For he has heard the voice of my pleas for mercy. The LORD is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him. The LORD is the strength of his people; he is the saving refuge of his anointed. Oh, save your people and bless your heritage! Be their shepherd and carry them forever. Psalm 28:6-9
