Notes from Mark

If you missed the past 5 days at EBC you missed some wonderful displays of God’s goodness and graciousness. You missed an opportunity to see our church serving together. It has been super. What am I talking about? Well . . .

First our Fall Festival. The format and layout changed (that’s nothing new it has changed location and design 5 times in the 9 Fall Festivals I have been a part), but sharing the joy of Christ to our community was the same. Over 1000 people attended with 301 of those attending telling us they do not go to church. That is incredible. I think I say that every year. We now have their information and it is going to be our challenge by making contact and continuing to show them the joy of Christ. Be watching in your SS classes for this opportunity. This is why I believe it is important to register each one. But if you and I fail to reach out then we are telling God this gift (the people who came) is not important, and it will be taken away at some point. Let us be faithful.

Second our WOM did an amazing and incredible job of putting together our Mission Night. 240 Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes were filled, labeled and packed in about 35 minutes. There was joy, and smiles all around. One of my favorite parts were the times we just stopped what we were doing and prayed for the children who would receive these boxes. Ladies you did a fantastic job and I thank you so much. It was great!

So we must not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, we must work for the good of all, especially for those who belong to the household of faith. Galatians 6:9-10
