Message (Page 11)
Notes from Mark
I have been enjoying the Call Of Christmas series that is being shared in our morning worship. It has been revealing to see the lives of those chosen by God to bear His Good News to the world changed. In these videos and messages one again catches a glimpse of God’s grace and how great God is. This is not great like in “That’s a great team” but great as in there is no one or no thing that is…
I Really Like Getting Gifts
I know, I know, Christmas is about giving gifts not receiving them but lets be honest, we love getting gifts. I love getting gifts, I love getting a gift that I know someone has taken time to think about me and find the gift that is just for me. Some great memories of Christmas are those years that I really, really wanted something and I waited what seemed like years to wait for Christmas to get it. Then Christmas day…
Rest is Important
The majority of the time I’m a Martha not a Mary (Luke 10), I know that. I work hard to focus during the times in my life that I need to focus on “Sitting at the Feet of Jesus”. There are many days that I have to remind myself to “Just Relax”. It drives Lisa a little crazy when I have multiple days off because I don’t “sit” well. I find myself with always a task or a list of…

December 13th our children will be presenting the musical Candy Cane Lane. This is a moment you will want to be sure and attend. Following our musical, the Children’s Ministry Team will be hosting a Christmas Party in our gym. This party is for everyone and we hope you will be there to greet our guests. It promises to be a special time of fellowship. As each child leaves they will be given a stocking filled with goodies! This is…
How did EBC get to Latvia (Part 2)
We didn’t just begin getting to know Latvia last year either. Just a few years ago we had a few EBC members travel to Latvia with the Singing Churchwomen of Oklahoma where they began to pray over the country, ministry in their church and love the people. Last week, we sent 5 men to Latvia to begin working with Majvieta “Church”. We began building relationships with the people for the church, listening to their vision, their struggles and their victories…

This week is Thanksgiving, next Sunday begins our series on The Call Of Christmas and our Hanging Of The Green service and soon will be our children’s musical Candy Cane Lane on December 13 – the Christmas season is upon us! This Sunday is The Call To Preparation. The drama will focus on Zechariah and his call to be father in old age. Yet not just a father, but the father of John the Baptist! As I was reviewing this…
Success
If you ask successful people, how they became successful, most would tell you the key was hard work. Success doesn’t not come easy. Once upon a time, an immigrant to America had heard that “every thing you touch in America turns to gold.” He heard “you make money left and right.” So he came to America with the plan to make a bunch of money and go back to his home country. He was here for a couple of weeks…then…
Perseverance
In 2 Timothy 4:7, Paul says “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” Paul knew a thing or two about perseverance. In Mexico City, in 1968, a runner painfully limped into the Olympic Stadium. He was the last man to finish the marathon that day. The winner had been crowned…the victory ceremony was long over…the stadium was almost empty as the runner slowly circled the track to the finish line. When…

Sunday evening was an enjoyable evening in the park. The weather was perfect and the “feel” of the night was great! Thank you to those who helped with set up and tear down. To Aaron, Scott, Jeff Roger, Chelsea, Sharon and Cassie, thank you for leading us in worship. It was fun. Seeing the church body in motion, working together, praising God together is a beautiful sight. Knowing that despite our differences and sometimes because of them we come together…
Satisfaction
The world around us can be depressing. We see people who are hurting…who are empty…who are lonely. They have broken dreams, broken lives, and no or little hope. Some of them don’t even try to solve their problems. They don’t try to work things out. They look at the short term and not the long haul. They want the quick fix. They are never satisfied. They feel the grass has got to be greener somewhere else. A farmer/philosopher once commented,…
