Fall Festival

The weather is changing. Nights are cooler the mornings have a crispness and the sky seems bluer. Thanks to a wet summer our autumn is feeling wonderful and looking beautiful. It is good to be alive and experience the joys of this world. As beautiful and wonderful as this world is we must remember that it pales in comparison to our eternal home. If you think about it, it can put your imagination into overdrive! Thinking about heaven doesn’t diminish the beauty and joy on earth rather it enhances it. So where am I going with this? This is a perfect time to
begin talking about and inviting people to our Fall Festival. This event is an outreach event. While we enjoy the activities as a church body it is an instrument to reach out to our community. Each year we take the information that is on the cards and separate them into different categories. Each year over 100 un-churched families come onto our church property. These families are then added into our prospect file in the Sunday School office and then distributed to SS classrooms. We then ask our classes to reach out to these prospects and invite them to church, to share God’s love. That is the purpose for our Fall Festival. Side benefits are the fun, the candy, the fellowship and the safe environment. As a church it is important for us to understand the purpose and commit to doing the follow-up. Please be in prayer for our church and yourself that you will do your part in sharing the Good
News. As Christians we don’t have to pray about whether we should reach out. We pray about the manner we do reach out. Paul said it this way:

To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became as one under the law (though not being myself under the law) that I might win those under the law. To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law. To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings.
