Message from Pastor Search Committee
Dear EBC Family, We thought it would be important to let our Church family know where we are in the process of finding the next Shepherd to lead Emmanuel. In the last few weeks we have met and sat down with two families and expect to talk to two more families this week. During this process we sat down with a family two weeks ago and felt good about that family after talking to them and thought that this might…
Our Library, Our History, Our Worship
Our library…in our recent property loss, was displaced because of the broken pipe and subsequent flooding. In the near future, we will restore the room that housed our library. Our library, in its former state was seldom used. Recently, the Library Committee and Staff, on two separate occasions, approached me about distributing the books to “where the people are.” They suggested moving books for youth to the youth wing…moving books for children downstairs to the children’s wing…moving discipleship and teaching…
Commitment to Pray
This coming Sunday, during the morning worship, you will have the opportunity to pray for our upcoming search for our next pastor. We will commit to pray for our church, our search committee election, our search for God’s man, our calling of God’s man, and our next pastor. When Emmanuel began the process to search for and eventually call me as pastor, you made a commitment to pray. Prayer makes all the difference. Please sign your iCommit card and place…
Retirement
This last Sunday, I announced my intentions of retiring from the pastorate at Emmanuel. August 5, 2018 will be my last Sunday in the pulpit at EBC. I harbor no ill will towards anyone, nor have I received any pressure to leave. I have prayed about it and found complete peace with my decision. I plan to return to teaching at SWOSU and to continue being part of the Emmanuel Baptist Church family. I am not leaving the church, nor…
Wednesday Helper
I need a helper on Wednesdays. Because of a lack of workers, I help with the Children’s Afterschool Program. I take children to the park and back. Some of our youth help me, which is great, but I need another adult. Also, we could use a helper for Kerina with Story Time. In 1 Corinthians 3:9, Paul writes “We are laborers together with God.” We each have a responsibility to serve God in some way. We partner with God and…

Spring Break Mission Trip 2018
I would like to invite you to pray about going on Emmanuel’s next mission trip to Latvia. We will once again partner with Majvieta (The Dwelling Place) in Riga. At this time, Sharon Lawrence and Chelsea Otey are planning on going. I am looking for a few more men and women to go. We will be doing some light painting and work on their church. We will spend time with their church family and make lasting relationships. We will encourage…
Thank You
Dear Church Family, On behalf of my step-mom Rosemary and my family, I want to thank you so much for all the thoughts, concern, love, prayers, hugs, cards, food and calls during our time of loss. You ministered to me, and my family, in a great way. Emmanuel, we are family. We take care of each other. We love God and we love each other. I am a blessed man and I am glad to be your pastor. Thanks for…
Bits and Pieces
What a sweet day we had at EBC this past Sunday! It was exciting to hear the first children’s handbell choir of EBC play in our service, they did a beautiful job and I am so proud of them. Thank you parents for your faithfulness in making sure they are where they need to be. If you missed the first week of The Call Of Christmas we heard the story of Zechariah. This week we will hear Mary’s story and…
