Your Family is Your Ministry

Your Family is Your Ministry

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Parent’s we make plans for so many things as it pertains to our kids. What we want them to do before graduation, in college and after graduation. I was convicted this week as I began to think about what my expectations spiritually of my own children are before they graduate high school. What goals do I have for them and how am I helping them to achieve those goals?

Parent’s we need to be the lead spiritual mentor to our children. It is not the church; any pastor or any other person’s job to raise my children and that includes their spiritual life. As a staff and as a church we are called to assist you and help equip you to do your ministry that God has placed you in, none more important than mentoring your own family.

“Parents, before your kids leave home, they should be able to: feed themselves spiritually, share Jesus, and
disciple someone. Your plan?” – Richard Ross (Professor of Student Ministry @SWBTS)
