Missions

What can I tell you about Madrid? Well, it’s hot and we are doing a lot of walking so far. We use public transportation to get around the city and have been averaging around 10 miles a day or around 20,000 steps. We have been working in an apartment area with children and have been averaging about 60+ children a day that we continue to build relationships with that will allow our FRIENDS here in Madrid to continue to build…
I will be traveling to Madrid this Saturday to work with an NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) that for security reason I will not name. We will be working with Muslim Refugees from primarily Morocco. Most missions trips that I go on are either to assist local churches or ministries (much like we are currently doing in Latvia) or to help with a Spiritual Harvest of new believers. In Madrid its a little bit different. You wont see many pictures of us…

Lets Mess with Texas

This summer our youth ministry will be headed over the boarder to share the love of Christ. We finalized this week that we will be traveling to Arlington, TX at the end of July just days after our students return from Falls Creek to work alongside Mission Arlington. Mission Arlington is a ministry that serves needy within the Arlington Metroplex. Our Students will be leaving on Saturday, July 28th, working with local house churches on that Sunday, facilitating backyard bible…

Spring Break Mission Trip 2018

I would like to invite you to pray about going on Emmanuel’s next mission trip to Latvia. We will once again partner with Majvieta (The Dwelling Place) in Riga. At this time, Sharon Lawrence and Chelsea Otey are planning on going. I am looking for a few more men and women to go. We will be doing some light painting and work on their church. We will spend time with their church family and make lasting relationships. We will encourage…
This Sunday night during our Evening worship service the Mission Team that just returned from Latvia will be sharing about the trip. We will be sharing about the vision and passion of the leaders of Majvieta Church as well as what we hope the future holds for future ways that WE as EBC can continue to partner with our brothers and sisters in Latvia. More to the point we are looking for a new team of mission partners that will…

How did EBC get to Latvia (pt.1)

In just a few days men from EBC will be traveling to Riga, Latvia to work with our friend Karlis’ church. This will be a realization of a mission God began planting since we came to Emmanuel. This mission is that EBC would work to create a partnership with a congregation in country outside the United States. To be completely truthful I never thought it would be Latvia, but God knew. I also didn’t expect that it would happen as…

Adjusting to God’s Mission Focus

Have you ever played the game where you start with a blurry image and as your keep looking at it the image grows more and more in focus and you try to guess what it is before time runs out? Sometimes God reveals things in much of the same way. He gives us a basic but blurry image of what he wants us to do, we follow him in obedience. If we continue to follow him the vision gets clearer…

Missions

Matthew 10:42, “And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.” As I sit on the other side of the world, handing bibles, gospel tracks, DVD’s of the Magdalena Film that presents the gospel to them. We are interacting with North African Muslims, Spanish, Spanish Gypsies, Refugees, Latins, Romanians and IMB Missionaries. So much diversity is here…

Summer Missionaries: Stage 1

As we as a church move forward in our vision of Missions our goal has got to be centered on the mandate of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20), the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:36-40) and Acts 1:8. That we would be willing, trained, equipped and expectant to GO, wherever and whenever Christ would open the door. In order for us as a church to be trained and equipped to minister to those in other lands we must begin here close to…

Wednesday Nights

Our church is blessed on Wednesday nights! Our after-school program attracts over 80 children and over 40 middle-school students. The children arrive to a snack and help with their homework. Thanks to the ladies who perform this ministry. Then, the children rotate through crafts, music, and recreation. Thanks to everyone who performs these ministries. Next, the children eat a free meal that is served to them by helpers. Thanks to those who serve and prepare those meals. Finally, the children…
