I went to the WOCDA Honors Choirs concert Monday night & was blessed by the performance of ALL the choirs. Their musicality, sound was beautiful. It was evident they had worked hard on the music. The directors & accompanists did a great job of getting the most out of each choir. There were students with EBC ties there, Barack and Savannah Skinner, Randon Folsom, Ginna Galindo, to name a few & Beth Spena as the accompanists for the Jr. High…
One of the parts of student ministry that has changed in the past few years is the influx of Social Media. From the days of Xanga, MySpace, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat or even Google + (all 4 of its users) and each day, I learn not only what students are using and expecting from these platforms, but also how they can be used for ministry. Not only that, we also watch as different platforms run their usability out with time or…

Once again as I am writing this article I am thinking of the many things for which I am thankful at EBC. This past week our Wednesday workers and children helped clean the basement preparing it for when we would move all the classroom equipment back down stairs. Thank you each one. On Saturday we were blessed to have 4 young men from SWOSU Serves come and help us move everything back down. We were done in about an hour!…
Matthew 5:13 “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet. (ESV) For the past 8 years I have had the opportunity to minister differently by coaching at local high schools. It has given me many different blessings and growing experiences. First, it has given me a way to share gifts that…

The world is a demanding place. Often we feel pulled in umpteen different directions and each one seems important. This causes us to worry and to stress about not just what gets done but what is left undone as well. We feel like we are in the middle of a tug of war and that we are the rope. Perhaps, knowing that the rope is helpless to correct the situation and is ultimately controlled by forces outside its control, we…

Things continue to bustle at EBC! There are many reasons to be excited and to stay connected with your church. This past Sunday we had our Party @the Park. With three groups meeting outside our physical building we had many opportunities to meet people and make new friends while extending the love of Christ to our city. It was a wonderful evening filled with the 4F’s – fellowship, food, fun and friends. Thank you to the team leaders and the…

We signed my boys up to play soccer for the first time this month. A few weeks ago they had their first game. I really wasn’t sure what to expect, they began very timid and slowly. After a few times down the field they began to understand the way everything was organized. After that the training wheels came off and they began having a blast running around, taking the ball and even scoring goals all on their own. After each…

Now may our God and Father himself, and our Lord Jesus, direct our way to you, and may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, as we do for you, so that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints. 1 Thessalonians 3:11-13 Throughout Paul’s letters in the New Testament we find beautiful benedictions. Words that…
With all the rain we’ve had the past few weeks and with being gone for one of those weeks, needless to say my lawn was a little bit of a jungle. On Saturday our family took the day to work on it by trimming, mowing and bagging the mowed grass. It took awhile, I found myself even having to mow certain places twice both to make sure we got the grass cut but also to make the lawn look clean…
